As the technological complexity of building electronics infrastructure increases, the demarcation between installation of cable infrastructure and commissioning of equipment will widen.  In order to facilitate this demarcation process, using a proven business model (see Data networking), Contract I.T. is developing the required cable management products.
The SmartBay Patch Panel (with power distribution) provides sixteen termination ports for Female Crimp BNC connectors. There are also sixteen pairs of
6.3 mm Spade Lug power connectors. The panel supports 12 VDC or 24 VAC power input. The panel mounts in a standard (19 inch) IEC60297 Equipment Rack. Each power output is individually protected with an automatically resettable fuse, this prevents a cable fault from disabling multiple cameras as can happen on systems not using SmartBay. Fuse status is shown with a LED for each output. Termination time for 16 Cameras can be reduced from 2 hours to 20 minutes. Traditionally CCTV implementations do not use Cable management, this creates a number of disadvantages, both for the installer and the customer.
